Ever since I moved to VA our family and close family friends have been gathering at my aunt's house to celebrate Christmas. The night is pretty routine...eat, karaoke, and wait until the stroke of midnight to open gifts. When we were kids it wasn't too hard to stay up until midnight, while the aunties and uncles "played cards". Fast forward 14 years later...staying up til midnight is a stretch! So in order to keep the kiddies entertained and all the older folk awake, I put together a little gingerbread house competition. We couldn't find any gingerbread house kits, so we had to made due with graham crackers and random holiday treats.
house 1 (santa's cottage)
house 2 (santa's condo)
house 3 (santa's cupcake retreat)
house 4 (santa's tent)
house 5 (santa's castle)
house 6 (santa's monument)
Since it was a competition, I asked the aunties to pick the winner.
Cutie pie Ava wins with house 6! She hired her uncles as contractors LOL
The aftermath
omg that's freaking awesome. LOL. i'm totally going to do this next Christmas!
