Ever since I saw the blueberry pancake showdown, I've been anxious to hit up Clinton St. to devour a pancake...or two! Whenever I'm in NY I put Clinton St. on my agenda, but all my attempts have been failures due to the looooong wait for a table. Apparently you have to show up at 8am (opening time) to avoid the up to two hour wait for a table. 8am and I do not mix.
The pancake Gods must have noticed my many failed attempts and managed to open a slot for a party of 3 on a random Wednesday in the middle of the afternoon. I was excited to find out we only had to wait twenty minutes!
Wild Maine blueberry pancakes with warm maple butter. These tasted as good as they looked. Imagine a mashup of a buttermilk biscuit and a moist cake made from scratch. That good!
Warm. Maple. Butter. TDF! Worth every single calorie :p
Blueberry goodness
I ordered a beet salad to fulfill my veggie quota, because I knew I would over indulge in carbs during this meal. Fresh LES beets with almonds, chives, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Beat the beets! (for all you jersey shore fans lol)
Veggie sandwich: avocado, muenster, beefsteak tomato, romaine, sprouts, herb mayo on 7 grain toast with mixed greens. fresh, fresh, fresh!!!
Sweet potato fries from an LES garden.
The twenty minute wait turned into an hour and a half food orgasm. Next time I'm in NY I'm definitely gonna wake up in the single digits for a repeat!
