traffic sucks snacks

DC traffic is no joke! If you don't leave before rush hour you're guaranteed to sit in your car for at least 45 minutes. I heard on the radio that Americans spend 3 billion hours in traffic ever year. I hate being stuck in traffic, especially on an empty stomach. Because I was working in DC this week, I knew I had to pack extra snacks for my long commute home. I packed one of my favorites: roasted seaweed.

Not only is this snack tasty, but it's good for you too! Dried seaweed, also known as nori, is rich in iodine and iron and high in protein. It is also a good source of vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium, magnesium and riboflavin (B2). Not only does it have all these nutritional riches, it is also a low-fat food! You can find mini packs of dried seaweed at your local Asian grocery store for under $5.
