blueberry & pomegranate brunch

One of the things we wanted to do in NY was hit up Clinton St bakery to taste the blueberry pancakes that battled our boy Bobby during a throwdown. But due to bad time management we missed the boat, so we had to settle for an alternative during brunch at the metropolitan the next day.

Not bad as an alternative! Each bite was packed with just enough blueberry to savor the flavor and the cakes were soft and cakey...just how I like them. Since it was brunch, we also ordered the Moroccan shrimp salad. I hate ordering a salad to find out that it's just a plate full of lettuce and typical veggies laced with some ordinary dressing which you could have probably made at home for half the price! That's definitely not the case with this salad.

The salad is tossed in a pomegranate molasses and topped with fresh artichokes and Moroccan seasoned shrimp. I'm typically not a huge fan of arugula, but the combination of its peppery flavor and sweetness of the pomegranate put this salad on my list of faves.
