Jackson's Indian Summer

Looks like Mother Nature decided to bless us with an Indian Summer before hitting us with a cold winter. Last Sunday temperatures reached a whopping 73 degrees, so me and the BF decided to eat brunch at the Reston Town Center. We wanted to sit outdoors, so we decided to eat at Jackson's. Unfortunately we had to settle for indoor seating, since all the table tops outside were taken :x

We started off with deviled eggs topped with spiced pecans. Yum! The best deviled eggs I've ever had. Pecans are waaaaay better toppers than paprika and adds texture and a hint of sass to each bite.

One of the specials of the day was acorn squash baked with brown sugar and topped with spiced pecans. At this point I'm already a huge fan of pecans, so a sprinkle of brown sugar made this veggie a winner in my book! I devoured this dish before I got my main entree.

Main entree: Jumbo lump crab cakes with hand cut fries and cole slaw
