charm city eats

I was psyched when my girl Annie found $90 round trip tickets from the Midwest to Baltimore! Even though BWI is an hour drive from my crib, I thought it would be nice to get away from NOVA and check out what "charm city" had to offer. Our first stop was Blue Moon Cafe for some yummy eggs benedict and their famous Captain Crunch french toast! I'm typically a pancake lover, but this french toast had me at first bite.

After breakfast we hit up the Hampden area for some vintage and boutique shopping (and to walk off our fatty brunch). We managed to slip into Common Ground for a good cup of joe and then headed back to our hotel to rest up before dinner.

Voted as one of Baltimore's best in 2009, we hit up L.P. Steamers for what the city is known for: Blue Crabs!

The beer and crabs came out first...

then the coleslaw (b/c you have to have some gulay lol) * I love homemade coleslaw*

and the seafood platter last...

I have to admit that the combination of ice cold miller light and old bay was a winner!

The next morning we hit up Miss Shirley's for a southern comfort brunch.

The fried green tomatoes with lemon herb aioli were a hit!

The Chesapeake deviled eggs were a miss! (deviled egg with jumbo lump crabmeat)

I ordered the Crab & Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict, which hit the spot! (poached eggs, jumbo lump crab meat & corn hash with roasted red pepper hollandaise sauce)

Thank you bmore for being so charming and filling our bellies with good eats!
