Our first stop was Granville Moore's in DC. I heard about Granville Moore's when Bobby Flay challenged GM's chef, Teddy Folkman, to a moule frites throwdown on the Food Network. Chef Teddy beat Bobby with his moules formage blue, so you better believe that's what we ordered. It's loaded with Hook's blue cheese, shallots, spinach, white wine, lemon juice and bacon.
The mussels & fries were cooked perfectly, but it was all about the "sabao". No joke. Once you get a taste you'll understand why this dish beat out the great Bobby Flay. The sauce was soooo good that the dipping sauces that came with the fries (truffle aioli & horseradish creme) took a back seat. If you love blue cheese & mussels venture out to NE DC. It's worth it...I promise.

I took Annie to my favorite frozen yogurt spot in Reston. I swear Ice Berry is the only good thing about living in Reston. Refreshing probiotics topped with mangos, granola, and mochi!

After a quick tour of the DC monuments we hit up Ben's Chili bowl.

The line was no joke! But the jukebox dished out good tunes that got the staff moving and laced the spot with positive vibes. We were tempted to ask for the playlist on top of our food order.

Annie and Ferdie split an original half smoked with chips, which according to them was "worth the wait".

I ordered the veggie chilli cheese fries & coleslaw.

nom, nom, nomz...

so official...

We hit up Georgtown cupcakes, and ordered the usual suspects for dessert (red velvet, mocha, coconut).

Shopping in Georgetown built up our appetites, so we headed into Fairfax and hit up Captain Pell's to satisfy Ferdie's craving for crabs.

Blue crabs, oysters, corn on the cob, fries, clams, shrimps, and scallops! I wish I took a picture of the hush puppies...those hit the spot :p Notice we had two bottles of tobasco. The only thing missing was a bowl of rice LOL

love granville moore's. loved the dipping sauces.
