After hello cupcake we headed to Georgetown Cupcakes to wrap up CC 2009. As expected, the line was super long, but after 30 minutes we had lemon berry, mocha, and red velvet cupcakes to go. We decided to save the taste test for later in order to let our sugar level balance itself out. I wish Georgetown Cupcakes invested in better to go containers for their cupcakes, because collateral damage is never good when you've got precious cargo.
The red velvet isn't one of GTC's popular flavors for no reason. This chocolate and vanilla cream cheese cup of goodness deserves all its praise. Chocolate + red + cream cheese = bomb dot com!
The lemon berry is a lemon and raspberry cake topped with a raspberry frosting and candied lemon peel. The cake was sweet and fruity, but I didn't taste much raspberry in the frosting. I guess I had high expectations after the you tart cupcake I had earlier.
The mocha is a valrhona chocolate cupcake with a mocha frosting topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean. Even though this cupcake wasn't the prettiest of the batch (due to collateral damage during transit) this was the best one! Each bite tasted like the the perfect blend of sugar, cream, and caffeine.
