After our sugar filled breakfast we swore we would stick to the one cupcake per person rule, regardless of how yummy all the cupcakes looked. It was hard to choose just two from the list of 12 flavors they had on display, but we eventually settled with the you tart and black forest cherry. April was the cupcake surgeon on call that day, so she was in charge of cutting the cakes into perfect bite size portions.
The you tart cupcake is a sassy lemon cake topped with lemon cream cheese frosting and yellow sugar sprinkles. This cupcake was named right! It was perfectly moist and tart and delivered enough lemon zest to counter balance all the chocolate from our previous stop. The lemon and cream cheese flavor combination is genius...thumbs up...waaaay up!
The black forest cherry is a chocolate cake topped with a vanilla frosting, cherry jubilee, and chocolate sprinkles.
